ECQ StatementsECQ statements accompany a Senior Executive Service application (and resume) and demonstrate your qualificaions for the job. Senior Executive Service applicatins include a cover letter, resume and ECQ statements. ECQ stands for "Executive Core Qualifications." These qualifications are divided into five groups: Leading Change, Leading People, Results Driven, Business Acumen, and Building Coalitions. Each ECQ is about one to two pages long and describes in detail specific examples of how you are qualified for the core area. They give specific examples of accomplishments and are written in the Challenge-Context-Action-Result (CCAR) Model: Challenge: Describe a problem or goal. Context: Place the example in its context Explain the complexity of the situation. Action: Discuss the specific actions. Result: Give results that demonstrate your leadership skills.
